Hi, friend, and welcome to my Journal.

Instead of a typical blog, I wanted to launch this “journal” to create a more personable connection with you. This will be a place where I give out valuable tips about brand design and share my personal thoughts about a bunch of different things. I even want to create the space to answer any questions you might have. No matter if you’re a designer, one of my clients, or my mom, my hope is that there’s something for everyone here!

Every now and then I’ll be posting an opportunity on my Instagram stories for you to ask anything you want to know about brand design or being a business-owner, or even ask me questions like “what’s your favorite movie?” — which, if you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you’ll know it’s Ponyo. I want to answer the fun questions and the not-so-fun questions for clients and designers alike! Everything is fair game. Thank you so much for being here to read my journal entries! Whether you’re reading this on the day that I launched the Journal, or you’re here stalking my page to catch up on past entries, I’m really excited to share my heart here and connect with you. To kick the journal entries off, I’d love to introduce myself so you can get to know the gal behind the computer screen (me, hi!).

I’m Alexia, but since we’re pen pals now, you can call me Lexi if ya want! I was born smack in the year 2000 (sorry to blow your mind, ‘90s-and-beyond babies) so I’m in the earlier group of Gen Z-ers. If you’re looking for a fun fact, I can tell you I’m a chronic show re-watcher. I’ve seen my fav show Schitt’s Creek probably 10 times from start to finish. I want so badly to be more like Alexis, but I’m undeniably David Rose with a teeeeeny-tiny sprinkle of Moira.

When it comes to personality tests, here’s the dirt on me: I’m a type 9 wing 1 on the Enneagram (I could talk alllll day about the Enneagram), which basically means I’m a comfy-cozy, go-with-the-flow gal with a bad case of perfectionism. I’m an ISFJ when it comes to the Meyer-Briggs, but my test results change often, so the jury’s still out on that one. I’m not a huge astrology girly either, but my big three are Pisces sun, Aries moon, and Leo rising, if that helps you read me.

I’m not a regular introvert, I’m a people-loving introvert. I love to be with my besties, but I’ll definitely need a nap afterwards. I also love a good hug. And if I’m not designing or reading books (English major, here!) in my chill time, I’m probably playing Animal Crossing. HMU for my Switch code if ya wanna swap fruits!

You probably already know this about me if you’ve read our About Us page, but Studio Ghibli movies have my entire heart. If you don’t understand why I talk about them so much — just watch one. My recommendation is to take this fun Buzzfeed quiz that will tell you which movie to watch first, or you can do what I did and start with their first film, Castle in the Sky. You simply cannot go wrong. Slide in my DMs after you’ve seen the light and we can chat the day away about all things Ghibli.

We can call it a day on the introductions for now! The hope is that with every new journal entry, you’ll feel like we’re becoming besties.
